EA got into some hot water with fans recently when they announced that five weapons in the upcoming Battlefield: Bad Company will only be available if the player buys them. This, of course, being in addition to the $59.95 dollars the player will have already shelled out for the game to begin with.
EA has told us it will be releasing a 'Gold Edition' of Bad Company. This edition of the game will feature those five locked weapons all ready to go and kick ass with. The folks that only purchase the standard edition will have to pay extra to get them.
Also, there will be five addition weapons, each of which will be exclusive to the specific retailer where the game is purchased. The other four weapons you don't have access to will be unlocked at some point after the game goes live.
