It seems as though we have suffered a great loss of talent in the recent month. Stan Winston, George Carlin, Michael Turner, and now Don S. Davis. Born in 1942, Davis was 65 years of age and died of a massive heart attack.
Davis played General Hammond in the popular Stargate SG-1 television series as well as Major Garland Briggs on Twin Peaks. Before turning to acting, Davis was a US Army Colonel, a painter, and woodcarver and starred in a host of other television series and films but retired from his usual workload in 2003 due to a medical condition.
Many consider the seasons of Stargate SG-1 that featured Davis as a regular to be the best of the series.
