A series of books in the Gears of War universe have been planned. The first novel in the new series will be called Gears of War: The Battle of Aspho Fields, and is being penned by Karen Traviss. The new book will be on sale starting October 28th, just shortly before Gears of War 2's launch date of November 7th.
The new novel is a prequel to the original Gears of War game and will give readers additional insight into the events leading up to Delta's involvement in it.
