MadCatz is also releasing an officially licensed portable drum kit. These portable drum pads are VERY thin and can stack together for transport. All you need is a flat surface to place them in whatever configuration you like. The $49.99 set includes two foam-tipped drum sticks specially designed for use with the kit.
The idea here being that the standard drum kit for Rock Band (and its sequel) are just way too big and bulky to easily transport from one place to another. Also, they tend to take up a lot of floor space. These are nice and stowable.
We were told by the MadCatz spokesperson to expect these units sometime in September or October.
