According to Reuters, Tecmo has turned down an offer to merge with Square Enix and is, instead, moving to merge with KOEI. Tecmo says that merging with KOEI gives them a better chance of 'increasing company value'.
That is interesting as I would have assumed, without seeing the figures of course, that merging with the people behind Final Fantasy would be a better move.
