Several sources this morning are stating that Duke Nukem Forever developer (and legendary PC game dev) 3d Realms has closed its doors. This shocking revelation has been corroborated by 3d Realms Staffer Joe Siegler in this post at the official company forums. Siegler writes: 'It's not a marketing thing. It's true. I have nothing further to say at this time'.
3D Realms started as Apogee Software in 1987, developing such classics as Shadow Warrior and Duke Nukem. They (as Apogee Software) even published the original Wolfenstein 3D and Commander Keen. Their perpetually in-development project, Duke Nukem Forever, had finally been on the road to completion when the closure took place due to lack of funding.
