The official release dates for NCsoft's Aion have been announced as September 22nd in North America and September 25th in Europe. For those of you unfamiliar with the title - Aion is a subscription-based, fantasy MMO which has won several awards in South Korea, where it was originally released. The game features 'PvPvE' combat and also combat into the vertical with flying units and mounts. Also announced were the game's closed beta dates, but to see those you will have to go After the Break!

Aion launches in North America on September 22, 2009 and makes its official debut in Europe starting September 25, 2009.
In addition to an international retail presence, Aion will also be available as a digital download at NCsoft.com, Direct2Drive and through Steam, a leading platform for the delivery and management of PC games with more than 15 million accounts worldwide.
Unlike any MMO before it, Aion is a uniquely crafted online experience where flight offers much more than just a way to explore the landscape - it is a strategic and integral part of combat, quests, and exploration.
