Remember last year's San Diego Comic Con when the GS crew got to checkout the upcoming Stargate Worlds MMO from FireSky? Well, it looks like the dream of a Stargate MMO maybe coming to a very sad end if the rumors are true.
According to MMORPG, what is being called a former-employee of FireSky has said that the company has until August 1st to raise capital to continue development or the license will be pulled by owner MGM Entertainment. This, after a solid year of financial troubles does not bode well for an upcoming game that has so much promise. The use of in-game cover has never been done the same way in an MMO before - really revolutionary! The ex-employee also states there are just two coders working on the project right not - one on the client and the other on the server.
We have contacted Firesky and MGM for comment and will update this post when we get.
