Ok let’s start this week with the goodies from Rock Band 2.  Harmonix is bringing out a large set for next week that includes the Hockey Night in Canada theme!  As a huge hockey fan, I am completely jazzed to see this as downloadable content!  The new, redone theme was created by none other then Rush great, Neil Peart!  As excited as I am about this song, it’s not the headliner for this release.  That honor goes to The White Stripes.  The brother/sister duo has another three pack that will be released next week for Rock Band 2.  This three pack includes the hit “Seven Nation Army”.  What other songs are being released?  Well, let’s look at the details!

Available on Xbox 360 and Wii (March 9th) and PlayStation 3 system (March 11th):
The Futureheads – “Decent Days & Nights” + from the album “The Futureheads”
The Futureheads – “Hounds of Love” + from the album “The Futureheads”
The James Gang – “Walk Away” + from the album “Funk #49”
Neil Peart – “The Hockey Theme” + * from Hockey Night in Canada (eh?)
Shaimus – “All of This” + * from the album “Paper Sun”
Shaimus – “Tie You Down” + * from the album “The Sad Thing Is, We Like It Here”
The White Stripes – “Fell in Love with a Girl” + from the album “White Blood Cells”
The White Stripes – “Seven Nation Army” from the album “Elephant”
The White Stripes – “You Don’t Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You’re Told)” + from the album “Icky Thump”

+ Denotes importable to Lego Rock Band on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

How will Guitar Hero and Activision compete with a set like that?  They answer back with the Chicago rock group, OK Go!  This band has one of the greatest music videos I have ever scene for the song “Here We Go Again”.  It shows the four band members dancing in unison on a series of treadmills.  The choreography for this video is fantastic and you cannot help but smile.  Sure, this isn’t a good reason to purchase the songs for Guitar Hero 5, but I found that the music from OK Go is catchy and fun to listen to as well.  I highly recommend that you check this band out!  Here are the details!

Available on Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation 3 system (March 11th):
OK Go - “Here It Goes Again” from the album “Oh No”
OK Go - “Do What You Want” from the album “Oh No”
OK Go – “Get Over It” from the album “OK Go”

There you have it folks, all the music news for the next week.  There is some great music that will be released, so please take the time and check it out.  And for you drummers out there, check out the hockey theme from Neil Peart.  It will be a great track to test your drumming skills on.  Keep it set here for all of your music gaming needs!
